Circle Time for Social and Emotional Developoment

Circle Time is a democratic and respectful pedagogy to develop social/emotional skills and a positive class ethos.  Circle Time builds relationships and promotes supportive and friendly behaviour, builds resilience, helps classrooms to be emotionally literate, reduces bullying and fosters belonging.

The full day workshop will:

  • introduce the methodology underpinning Circle Time
  • give participants the opportunity to experience a range of Circle activities and learn how to run a Circle Time session
  • demonstrate the use of cards and other resources
  • provide a framework and resources to implement Circle Time

About the presenters:

Glenda Johnston is an educational psychologist, teacher and presenter who has been published extensively in Australia and overseas.  She enjoys sharing her enthusiasm for Circle Time.

Bob Bellhouse is an experienced teacher and presenter who uses cards and games to extend the possibilities of Circle Time.
